CONCEPT

  • The development of an existing redundant farm site – comprising a farmhouse, coach house and storage unit.
  • The site is located in an open countryside location near Sellack and is in the Wye Valley AONB.
  • Designed to accord with local and national planning policies – particularly with regards to safeguarding protected structures, environmental quality, bio-diversity, green infrastructure, historic environments, sustainable design, flood risk reduction, local distinctiveness, re-use of existing buildings and addressing climate change.
  • The proposed development comprises the refurbishment of 3 farm properties (to create 2 residences), on agricultural land.  The proposal involved improving site access, utilisation of existing physical building structures, site preparation, service infrastructure works and the construction of new residential amenity – parking and landscaping etc., together with the demolition of a number of sheds and out-buildings.
  • The main farmhouse incorporates a new layout that utilises existing architectural features – retaining existing internal wall locations and staircase.
  • The project features a mezzanine lounge located above the new Kitchen.
