CONCEPT

  • Designed to align with the clients core business activities- civil engineering and groundworks.
  • The development is to be unique and site specific in design.
  • The homes are to be zero carbon.
  • The homes are to take advantage of their location in terms of
    sun, light, views and orientation.
  • The design process should (in our opinion) rely on effective
‘place-setting’ as much as unit building aesthetic.
  • Positioning and building form is critical and should be
considered as central to building efficiency and environmental
    design.
  • The buildings are to be site-specific in design and respond
    appropriately to its context.
  • The construction needs to be cost effective and deliverable
    within an agreed time scale.
  • Above all the housing development has to be bespoke and
visually attractive. They must integrate with the landscape and blur
the boundaries between external and internal space in order
to create effective croft-style living and to contribute to wider
community value, it must also act as a ‘good neighbour’ to the
    existing housing stock.
